St Anne’s is a facility of 121 beds which includes a dementia support unit. Accommodation comprises
both single and two-bed rooms. The building is beautifully and functionally designed. The rooms are decorated
with tasteful modern furnishings and have large windows overlooking the well-established gardens. Residents

Aruma Lodge is a 58-bed facility which includes one respite room and a 10-bed
dementia-specific wing. The facility has a separate dining room and fully equipped kitchen
which prepares freshly cooked meals for residents. Aruma Lodge has care staff to assist
residents 24 hours a day , 7 days per week. A registered nurse is available Monday to
Friday along with an Activities Officer.

Harold Williams Home

Harold Williams Home opened its doors in March 2011. It is a brand new purpose-built facility, which
includes one respite bed. Accommodation is single rooms complete with ensuite and beautiful bay
windows, spacious enough for residents to enjoy privacy when welcoming visitors.

The facility was awarded the NSW Seniors Living Award from the Urban Development Institute of Australia
and embraces the Eden Philosophy of care which aims to ensure that care is resident-centred and that

The Board control and manage the affairs of Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill) Ltd and have the power to perform all such acts and do all such things as to appear to the Board to be necessary or desirable for the proper management of the affairs of Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill) Ltd.

Nine of the twelve Directors of the Board of Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill) are members of the Knights of the Southern Cross Branch 14, Broken Hill. A further three Directors are selected by the Board to fill specific areas of expertise. Members of the Board do not receive any remuneration.

The Knights of the Southern Cross (KSC) is an Order of Catholic lay men committed to promoting the Catholic way of life throughout Australia. One of the stated objects of the Order is “To conduct and support educational, charitable, religious and social welfare work” Aged care provision to all elderly citizens of Broken Hill and Sunraysia has become the primary focus for the Broken Hill branch of the Knights of the southern Cross.
