Donations and Bequests

iStock_000017984320SmallSouthern Cross Care is a not-for-profit charitable organisation dedicated to providing the best available care to the elderly.

Donations and bequests are a wonderful way to support its work now and into the future. They are an important source of income that directly benefits residents through the purchase of equipment, furnishings and lifestyle activities.

When loved ones die, a memorial donation is a special and thoughtful way to pay tribute to them. By requesting that donations in lieu of flowers be directed to Southern Cross Care, families can show support for the care and services that the organisation provides to so many elderly people. Families who wish to contribute should notify the funeral director and request that the funeral notice include the words: ‘Donations may be made to Southern Cross Care’ and that donation envelopes are provided at the service. The next of kin of the deceased are always notified of the names of those who have donated in memory of a loved one. The donation amounts are kept confidential. All donations including In Memoriam donations are acknowledged with a personal letter of thanks from SCCBH. Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible and a receipt is issued.

Leaving a gift in a will is a very special way to help the organisation beyond the donor’s lifetime. Bequests and donations help SCCBH plan for the future and can either be general or directed to a specific area of interest. All donations to Southern Cross Care, no matter how large or small, are highly valued and gratefully received.
