Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill) Ltd is an autonomous company, limited by guarantee, with affiliations to Southern Cross Care Australia.

Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill) Ltd is a public benevolent institution operating in New South Wales and Victoria.

The Board controls and manages the affairs of Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill) Ltd and has the power to perform all such acts and do all such things as appear to the Board to be necessary or desirable for the proper management of the affairs of Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill) Ltd. 

 Eight of the eleven Directors of the Board of Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill) are members of the Knights of the Southern Cross Branch 14, Broken Hill.  A further three Directors are selected by the Board to fill specific areas of expertise. Members of the Board do not receive any remuneration. 

 The Knights of the Southern Cross (KSC) is an Order of Catholic laymen committed to promoting the Catholic way of life throughout Australia.

One of the stated objects of the Order is “To conduct and support educational, charitable, religious and social welfare work” . Aged care provision to all elderly citizens of Broken Hill and Sunraysia has become the primary focus for the Broken Hill branch of the Knights of the Southern Cross.
