Important Update: Southern Cross Care Broken Hill is now part of Southern Cross Care Queensland

From 13 June 2025, Southern Cross Care Broken Hill (SCCBH) has officially joined Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ).

Over the past year, SCCBH and SCCQ have worked closely under a Management Services Arrangement (MSA) to address compliance gaps and restore services to the required standards under the Aged Care Quality Standards. This partnership has brought together the strengths of both organisations, with SCCQ providing operational, clinical, and governance support to build capability and consistency across all aspects of care delivery.

Following careful consideration and mutual agreement, both SCCBH and SCCQ Boards have confirmed that SCCQ is best placed to continue leading these services into the future. A contract for the transfer of operations has now been signed, with settlement completed on 13 June 2025.

This change marks an exciting new chapter for aged care and retirement living services in Broken Hill and Mildura. SCCQ is a Catholic, not-for-profit organisation with more than 40 years of experience supporting older Australians to live their best lives. By joining with SCCQ, we are strengthening our mission and ensuring long-term sustainability for the services you know and trust.

While the website is changing, our commitment to providing compassionate, person-centred care remains the same. Residents, families, and staff will continue to receive the high-quality support they rely on—now backed by the resources, expertise, and scale of a broader Queensland-based team.
