At Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill), we’re dedicated to making sure our residents receive the best care and service possible. Our journey began in the late 1970s, inspired by the Knights of the Southern Cross. They had a heartfelt vision to create a place for retirees in Broken Hill, and their dream came true with the building of 40 independent-living units on Blende Street. These homes became known as Con Crowley Village, named in honour of Cornelius (Con) Crowley, who served as Broken Hill’s Town Clerk for 25 years and was a cherished member of our community.
From these modest beginnings, Southern Cross Care (Broken Hill) has grown to be a trusted provider of accommodation and care for the elderly residents of Broken Hill, the Far West of New South Wales, and the Sunraysia district of Victoria. We’re proud of our roots and committed to serving our community with warmth and respect.
Our latest project, War Vets Retirement Living, was born from the Southern Cross Care Board’s recognition of a need for affordable housing. We wanted to create a haven for our hardworking retirees, offering independent living without the burdens of home maintenance and garden upkeep and allowing residents to fully enjoy their retirement years.
